Godfather Death is a dark Brothers Grimm fairy tale about a poor man searching for a fair godfather for his thirteenth child. He rejects both God and the Devil before choosing Death, who treats rich and poor alike. Death rewards his godson with the power to become a successful doctor. When Death stands at a sick person’s head, the doctor may save them with a magical herb. When Death stands at their feet, no medicine will help. The arrangement brings the young man wealth and fame, but he soon becomes tempted to break the rules. Can anyone deceive Death without eventually paying the price?
