Mother Holle is a Brothers Grimm fairy tale about two sisters who receive very different rewards. A hardworking girl drops her spindle into a well and jumps after it, awakening in a strange land. On her journey, she helps bread that is burning in an oven and shakes ripe apples from a tree. She eventually reaches the home of Mother Holle, an old woman with enormous teeth who asks the girl to work for her. When the girl performs every task with care, she is generously rewarded. Her lazy sister then follows the same path, expecting the same fortune. Will she understand that rewards must be earned?
