Sweet Porridge is a short Brothers Grimm fairy tale about a magical cooking pot. A poor girl and her mother sometimes have nothing to eat. One day, the girl meets an old woman who gives her a small pot with an extraordinary power. When the correct words are spoken, it produces as much sweet porridge as anyone could want. Another command makes it stop. The pot solves the family’s hunger—until the girl leaves home and her mother forgets the words needed to end the cooking. Soon porridge fills the kitchen, the house, and the streets. Can anyone stop it before the entire town disappears beneath the food?
