About this story
Othello is a celebrated general who has secretly married Desdemona, the woman he loves. Their happiness is threatened by Iago, an officer who hates Othello and is determined to destroy him. Pretending to be a loyal friend, Iago carefully persuades Othello that Desdemona has been unfaithful. A missing handkerchief becomes false evidence, while every innocent action is twisted into another reason for suspicion. Othello’s love gradually turns into uncontrollable jealousy, but Desdemona does not understand why her husband has changed. Will Othello recognize Iago’s deception in time, or will he punish the person who has remained faithful to him?
