About this story

Humanity has become violent and corrupt, but Noah remains faithful to God. Warned that a devastating flood is coming, Noah is commanded to build an enormous ark for his family and representatives of every kind of animal. As the waters rise and cover the earth, everyone inside the ark must wait for signs that the flood is finally ending. Noah’s Ark is one of the Bible’s most recognizable stories, combining destruction, survival, obedience and renewal. It concludes with God’s covenant with Noah and the appearance of the rainbow as a sign of that promise.

Yahweh a văzut că răutatea oamenilor era mare pe pământ și că toate gândurile și dorințele inimii lor se îndreptau mereu numai spre rău. I-a părut rău că l-a făcut pe om pe pământ și s-a întristat în inima lui. Atunci Yahweh a zis: „Îl voi șterge de pe fața pământului pe omul pe care l-am creat, împreună cu animalele, târâtoarele și păsările cerului, fiindcă îmi pare rău că le-am făcut.” Dar Noe a găsit bunăvoință înaintea lui Yahweh.

Yahweh vede că răutatea omului este mare pe pământ. El vede că gândurile omului merg mereu spre rău. Lui Yahweh îi pare rău că l-a făcut pe om pe pământ. El este trist în inima lui. Yahweh zice: „O să-l nimicesc de pe fața pământului pe omul pe care l-am făcut. O să nimicesc și animalele, și târâtoarele, și păsările cerului, pentru că îmi pare rău că le-am făcut.” Dar Noe găsește bunăvoință în ochii lui Yahweh.
